​Step 1: Consultation - I meet with you to discuss your goals and your pain points. Each project is tailored to the individual because each person's needs are different. I want to create a system that works for YOU.

Step 2: Assess the space - I evaluate the space to be organized and determine a plan of action, discussing with you ideas and making sure we are on the same page about the end goal.

Step 3: Sorting / Purging - We will sort through all items in the space determining whether they make sense to keep, repurpose, donate or dispose of. 

 

Step 4: Zoning - We will determine the function of the room and put systems in place that make sense to you for using and maintaining the newly organized space.

Step 5: Purchase Organizing Products (if necessary) - I save this step for last because we now know exactly what we need. Now that the space is planned, we can have a clear vision of items needed to complete the space, whether they be organizational or decorative.

Generally speaking, It usually takes 6-8 hours to complete one room. Because there are so many variables to consider, this can vary between projects. Bathrooms can usually be completed in 2-4 hours and closets as well (depending on the size and amount of clutter, of course). If new closet systems /  or shelving is installed, it will take longer.

Step 2: Assess the space - I evaluate the space to be redesigned and take inventory of all furniture and decor available for use. You will be surprised how much you have in other areas of your home that can be repurposed to totally transform your space!

Step 3: Redesign - We will rearrange furniture, artwork and accessories to create the new space you are dreaming of!

Step 4: Purchase Supplies / Decor - If necessary to complete your look, we will purchase paint / supplies to repurpose existing items or purchase additional decor. For example, some clients desire to paint a piece of furniture to give it a fresh new look or purchase new bedding, new curtains, etc. 

These are the essentials I will cover when home staging: 

1. Depersonalizing the space - remove family photos so other buyers can visualize their family in your home. 

2. Decluttering - clutter is distracting and prevents potential homebuyers from seeing your home's potential.

3. Focusing on the home's strengths - If you have a beautiful fireplace, but it is covered in clutter or blocked by furniture, the buyer will overlook. Or if you have a beautiful large window overlooking the backyard, but it is blocked by furniture, a potential buyer will not appreciate this selling feature. 

4. Focusing on Functionality - if your formal dining room is currently being used as the kids' playroom, they buyer may not visualize this room for its intended purpose and undervalue the space.

You will be amazed at the dramatic transformations I will be able to accomplish in a single Staging Day using what you already have! Successful home staging must make financial sense and I am experienced and trained in making the most out of your current belongings in order to turn buyer traffic into offers.

Step 2 - Recommended Purchases As “Investments” In Selling Your Home
Working within your budget, I will only make those recommended purchases that will MORE then pay for themselves in the speed and amount of sale. I also offer a shopping service if you need more guidance in this area.

Step 3 - Simple Yet Dramatic Cosmetic Updates and Changes
Depending on your budget and timing, we may suggest paint, electrical and other cosmetic improvements that will result in a high return on investment.  I will tell you which rooms and improvements are “worth it.”  Don’t spend on cosmetic changes without first consulting the experts at Interior Motive.  

 

Once all changes are made, we will take pictures to share with your realtor.  Almost all homebuyers are online searching for homes BEFORE they visit a home, so we want to make an excellent first impression and compel them to come to your home.
